Mar Adentro and Ilhas do Rio Institute

Mar Adentro Institute is an environmental organization, founded in 2005, whose mission is to promote and foster actions for the generation and promotion of knowledge about aquatic ecosystems, in addition to encouraging the engagement of people in environmental conservation actions and collaborating to the maintenance of the environmental equilibrium, aiming at the benefit of the citizens of today and of the future generations.aquáticos, além de incentivar o envolvimento das pessoas com ações de conservação ambiental e colaborar para a manutenção do equilíbrio ambiental, visando o benefício dos cidadãos de hoje e das futuras gerações.

Among its most important projects is Ilhas do Rio, which develops scientific research for the management of the Natural Monument of the Cagarras Islands (MONA Cagarras), the first Marine Conservation Unit for Integral Protection in Rio de Janeiro.

To reach the children and youth audience, one of the actions carried out is the play Batalha da Natureza, which deals with themes related to environmental conservation, such as the correct disposal of garbage, in a playful way. The difference is the participation of the audience in a quiz during the show, in which the flora and fauna teams are formed. With lots of fun, everyone learns about the consequences that pollution has on the environment and on our lives.
